Howard Tibbals and his wife Janice officially open the Tibbals Learning Center’s expanded interactive galleries from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Tibbals generously helped donate funding for the $7.5 million facility, which adjoins the building that houses his circus miniature masterpiece.

SCTI Receives Best Project Award
The School Board of Sarasota County’s new $31.8-million Sarasota County Technical Institute received an Award of Merit in the K-12 Education Category at ENR Southeast magazine’s “2011 Best Projects” Awards in Orlando. Willis A. Smith Construction served as Construction Manager for the project. Heralded as the largest new facility of its kind in the Southeast, the 198,454-square-feet facility is the second of three phases. Project architect is ShenkelShultz.
